Willam Herschel (1738 - 1822) With the help of his sister, Caroline, who joined him in England in 1772, began experimenting with making mirrors and building reflecting telescopes. His first telescope had a mirror with a diameter of 6 inches (15 centimeters) and overall tube length of 7 feet (2.1 meters). The instrument produced a maginfication of 40 times, enough to clearly see the rings of Saturn.

This model of the Herschel's telescope has been produced as a low prim build for the virtual world, and will be a point of interest for any sim that has an astronomical or education theme.
